# MacMonitor

## What it does
- Storage Lens: scans the startup disk or any folder and shows sizes as a list, bubble map, or treemap. Counts APFS clones and hard links once.
- Cleaner: finds app caches, logs, crash reports, saved state, iOS backups, duplicates, large and old files, and idle apps with their leftovers. Every action is reviewed first, and Trash moves are labelled separately from permanent deletion.
- File organizer: sorts a chosen folder (such as Downloads) into type folders (documents, images, video, audio, archives, installers). It previews every move and any name collision before anything is moved, and can undo the last organization.
- Activity: CPU, memory, disk, network, GPU and battery views, per-app CPU and memory, memory pressure, swap and thermal state with seven days of history, and optional alerts (off by default).
- Menu bar panel: a page per metric with live history and the busiest apps, one plain sentence when something needs attention (low disk space, memory pressure, a runaway app), and the option to ask an app to quit after a confirmation.
- Developer tools: local AI model weights (Ollama, LM Studio, Hugging Face), build caches, and local servers that are still listening.

## Privacy
Your files never leave the Mac. No account, no analytics inside the app. The direct download's only network request is its license check (license key and Mac name to Lemon Squeezy). Optional document and image suggestions in the organizer use on-device models. Nothing is uploaded.

## Editions
- Direct download (Developer ID, notarized): full feature set, sold with a license key that activates one Mac.
- Mac App Store edition: sandboxed, so some features that need broad file or process access are omitted and the screens say why.
